CMV: The US will never see a change in gun laws anytime soon.

Recent shooting events have shown that people are more in favor of owning guns than ever before. In fact, gun sales have skyrocketed. The fear of losing our right to bear arms has been heightened after the presidential debates. People are stockpiling guns and ammunition because they are afraid that the next four years will result in the government banning assault rifles and other firearms. I think the opposing views are too great to come to an agreement on anything in the near future. I know r/changemyview doesn't like politics. But I feel like this could be an interesting discussion. Please come at this with an open mind.<br><br>Edit: This blew up faster than I thought it would. I'd just like to reiterate that both sides need to stay civil and not come at each other with aggression. I've already had to ask 3 people to Shape Up!
