CMV: The USA should return the colonies it has stolen from Mexico at the earliest opportunity

The Mexican-American War was a war of conquest, and the USA's gain is Mexico's loss. <br><br>Mexico was coerced into signing the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo in a position of weakness, and the USA's exploitation of the land has benefited the people of the USA at the expense of Mexico's ability to thrive.<br><br>Furthermore, this acquisition of land was the product of an expansionist, imperialist "manifest destiny" mindset that was both unifying and motivating for the USA, while leaving Mexico politically destabilized.<br><br>Returning the land to Mexico will allow both countries to correct the historical injustices that have been made by previous generations.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br><br>Edit: Holy balls this blew up<br><br>Edit 2: I'm not actually calling for all of Texas, California, Nevada, etc. to immediately be given to Mexico, but rather calling for the establishment of Mexican autonomy within the occupied territory, allowing residents the opportunity to vote on the matter, and generally taking a more active role in addressing the harm that the USA has done to Mexico in adding a large amount of land area.<br><br>Edit 3: Thank you so much kind strangers for the gold, silver, and other awards.
