A lot of the television shows using fully adult actors in a high school setting could easily change their plot to revolve around a college setting instead of the weird fixation television has on displaying the sex lives of high schoolers

I think a lot of television shows use the highschool setting as an excuse to have a young adult story line and display all the drama that comes with puberty, love, relationships, and sex that comes with this age range but don’t want to actually lose the viewers that watch the show because the cast gets too old for the high school setting so they just keep them in high school. In a lot of these shows the characters are either 21+ or close to 21 so the writers could easily change the setting to a college or university instead of having 30 year olds play teenagers and display the sex lives of high schoolers.
