Getting prosecuted for prior shoplifting.

My mom worked at Walmart and was stealing gift cards. I asked for her to get me a gift card and she never paid for it. A few years later she identifies me on a camera for stealing and says I was the one that was getting the GC. I never got in trouble for it and no one ever knew until now. Cops showed up at my doorstep to say I was a suspect in a case from 2015 saying the prior cameras malfunctioned and the footage never showed. Well they got the footage and they want to prosecute. Is this real? Can they really prosecute me 7 years later? I'm an adult and the footage is from when I was a kid<br><br>Edit: I never got caught on camera. This was the footage of my mom giving me a GC
