I asked my girlfriend to show me her favorite gun and I was flabbergasted

It was a Glock. I know, yuck. Her father bought it for her when she was younger after she expressed an interest in guns and self defense. He bought her a Glock 43 and a nightstand holster and showed her how to use it. They went to the range together several times and he helped her pick out her own concealing pistol. She’s been carrying a Glock 26 everywhere she goes since she was 21. I’m not a huge fan of Glocks myself, but hey, you can’t fault a girl for liking what she likes, right? She then told me it was a 9mm and I asked her if she had ever considered a .45. She said no and I told her about how my buddy Dave’s wife had trouble with 9mm and she switched to a .45 and now she can’t miss the broad side of a barn. So then I asked her how often she practices with the Glock and she said about once every 2-3 months. I was shocked. You gotta keep the skills sharp. I told her that you gotta be proficient in self defense scenarios and you never know when trouble is gonna come. I said she’s probably never gonna be good at shooting if she goes that long between trips to the range. Then I asked if she’s ever shot any .45s after I suggested it and she said she’s never shot any other guns.<br><br>She asked me if I had a .45 that I could show her. Well, you guessed it. She loved it. She loves the .45. She loved my Black Beauty. It was much bigger than her Glock, but my buddy Dave’s wife had no problems with it. I think I may have changed her opinion on .45s. I think she’s gonna start buying .45 rounds and maybe we’ll have to go shooting more often. I’ll have to make sure she knows what she’s doing, but I’m sure she’ll be fine after a few times out. It’s always great to see a girl get into bigger calibers.<br><br>Edit: if you’re wondering why I didn’t just ask her if she’s been training with a professional or what her carry rig is: It was none of my business, duh. She’s an adult and we’d only been dating for a few weeks.<br><br>Edit 2: you guys are nuts. I don’t care if you don’t like glocks. This is just a funny story of me showing a girl a new gun. She’s happy with my Black Beauty now and she loves me.
