Am I a dick if I end the day with a quick exit ticket to make sure kids understand before next class?

I think I have a student with low cognitive abilities and I am finding it very hard to “make sure he understands” at the end of the day before sending him and the class home. <br><br>We use exit tickets in my school but I like to add a minimal simple question at the end to check kids understand before I let them go home. <br><br>I think I’m not a dick because I’m doing it to all the kids but I’m not sure if it’s required, especially for the kid in question?
