Lying to a child to stop them from doing something bad for them is the same logic as lying to adults to stop them from committing war crimes (as seen in The Expanse)

Give them a boogeyman to fear, serve them lies in order to protect them or protect the world from them.<br><br>Parents lie to their children because they know there's shit out there their kids can't handle.
