Partners?

I don’t get why people in incest relationships call each other “Partners”. I am in an incest relationship and I call my partner “Love” “Baby” “Princess” etc. but never “partnerts” Or “friends” I don’t I understand why people say “We’re both so glad that you’re healthy my partner and I are really proud of ourselves” Like ? Why you are calling her your partner? That’s your daughter ?
