I told my wife my new friend is gay but they're not

I recently made a new friend. He's really cool, we've had great times together and I'd like to call him one of my best. There's no doubt in my mind he'd have my back through anything life throws at us.<br><br>Problem is, my wife is jealous of him. She feels as if I'm cheating, so to soothe her I told her he's gay and we're just really close mates.<br><br>Now I'm stuck with having to convince him to pretend to be gay for her so I don't catch shit.<br><br>I'm desperate, I haven't spoken to him about this yet, but I'm just lost as to what to do. Part of me doesn't want to ruin our friendship. Should I talk to him? Should I go back to my wife and admit I lied? Help me.<br><br>edit: looks like some people have taken the post seriously.
