It was all in the way he said “Hello?” That made me pause. I hadn’t talked to him since that night. He was always busy and I never wanted to bother him. So it had been months. <br><br>“Hey” I said. <br><br>“Where’s that? Your place?” he asked. <br><br>“Yeah. Do you want to come over?” I asked. <br><br>“I’m leaving now.” <br><br>I smiled as I heard the sound of his car driving away. <br><br>I got dressed up and did my makeup. I hoped he’d stay a while. I heard him pull up a few minutes later. <br><br>He came in and kissed me. <br><br>“Sorry I’m so late. I had an interview. But I got the job” he said. <br><br>“That’s awesome! Congratulations.” <br><br>“Thanks. So….” he said. <br><br>“I was gonna order some takeout and watch a movie. You’re welcome to join me.” I said. <br><br>“I’d love to.” he said. <br><br>We ate our food and watched a movie. I was having a great time. It had been so long since we’d spent time together. <br><br>When the movie was over he said “So now that I have a job full time, I was gonna move out of my place. Is that okay?” he asked. <br><br>“Of course.” I said. <br><br>“Great. I’m gonna start packing my place up now and then I’ll be over.” he said. <br><br>“Alright.” I said. <br><br>He left and I cleaned up our mess. I heard him pulling up again a few minutes later. <br><br>“Hey!” he said as he walked in the door. <br><br>“Hey.” I said. <br><br>He came up behind me and put his arms on my shoulders. <br><br>“You look really pretty right now.” He said. <br><br>I blushed. “Thanks.” I said. <br><br>He turned me around and we kissed. It was great. I felt like I was melting into his lips. <br><br>When we broke apart he said “You know, I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. You make me feel like the luckiest guy in the world.” <br><br>I felt my eyes welling up with tears. “I feel the same way about you” I said. <br><br>We hugged and I felt like everything was going to be okay. I felt like this was it. This was the start of something beautiful. <br><br>We stood there for a while before he pulled away and said “So, now that we’re going to be living together, what do you say we practice wedding vows?” he asked. <br><br>I started crying. “Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!” I exclaimed. <br><br>He got down on one knee and pulled out a small box. <br><br>“Will you marry me?” he asked. <br><br>“Yes! A thousand times yes!” I cried as I said yes when he placed the ring on my finger.
