I'm so tired of Facebook

I posted a simple photo on Facebook. I don't care what the photo is of. It's just a photo. Two people commented, and one sent me a private message.

In all three instances, Facebook is DEMANDING that I allow it to track my location, using my phone's GPS, for a year. It won't let me in to respond to the message or the comments without saying yes to this.

I don't want to give them that information. I don't want to be tracked by anyone. I don't want to be bombarded with ads for places I go. I don't want my movements monitored. I don't want my phone's battery to drain every time I want to post something on Facebook.

I just want to post a simple photo and interact with some people I know on Facebook. That's it. Why can't I do this without granting this monsterous company the right to track my movements?
