Was told being a teacher is an easy job. What am I missing?

My father told me that being a teacher is an easy job and that is why most people become teachers. I am currently in school to be a teacher. I don't see how teaching is an easy job. I can't imagine having 30 kids in one class room all with different personalities and learning styles and different abilities. And to top it off, you are expected to be a counselor, coach and mentor as well as educate. I can't imagine managing the classroom and grading papers on top of all the other things we are expected to do. What am I missing?
