Jumper in the Pool at Night

Never thought about posting on this forum before because I haven't had anything like this happen until 3 weeks ago.<br><br><br>My family moved to a new house in the summer. It was in a good area with a couple accredited nearby schools. However, the real selling point for me was that the house had a private backyard with a swimming pool. The previous owner and tenant had used it plenty, and it was just a real luxury for the summer time.<br><br>After spending a lot of time in the pool, I would sometimes start to get a little nervous - especially at night. I had no clue why, but it may have been because the previous tenant had never been there. My dad would go check the locks sometimes when we first moved in, but he never found anything. But I had to get used to the house, it wasn't like I could freak out every night.<br><br>It was a cool night 3 weeks ago. It was actually a bit chilly, but my dad tried to get me into the pool that night. He said it would be a nice way to end the day and I agreed. My sister was fast asleep, so it was just the two of us. We stayed in for a little while, and it was actually pretty relaxing. We talked a bit, but mostly just floated in the water. After a while, I suggested we go in and he agreed.<br><br>It's important to note that we both had our backs facing the fence of the backyard.<br><br>When I stood up and looked over at my dad, he didn't look right. He had this nervy and panicked expression on his face, and he kept looking behind me. I turned to see what he was looking at, and that's when I freaked out.<br><br>Standing right next to the pool, right behind me, was a guy. I couldn't see his facial features because it was dark, but I could tell from the muscles and haircut that is was a guy. He had on a black shirt and pants, and had climbed over the fence. I don't know how he hadn't made a noise when he did so.<br><br>I don't know what this guy's intentions were, but he was right next to the pool, about to jump in. I freaked out at the sight of him, and let out a loud shriek. My dad was startled and jumped in the water, and this guy leaped over the fence like he had parkour skills or something. I watched him leap over the fence in a single bound and land on his feet like a cat.<br><br>The police came and searched the neighborhood, but found nothing. They tried to check the cameras from the nearby houses, but this guy was smart in where he chose to run. My dad said it was probably some sick weirdo who liked to spy on people in the pool. My dad started locking the fence, and I stopped using the pool at night. I still use it when I can, but I always make sure to have someone with me.<br><br>I don't ever want to see that guy again, and the though of him is still haunting me.<br><br>&#x200B;<br><br>Edit: Holy shit this blew up.
