Cats have an extremely low self control when they know they shouldn't be doing something

Cats are notoriously considered to have self control and can wait for food or pounce on something at the right time. While that may be true, when they KNOW they shouldn't be doing something, they have an extremely low self control. Many cat owners will be familiar with this, and one particular thing is knocking over water or food and then running away as if they've never seen a calf before. If a cat sees a bowl of food, it wouldn't knock it over. But if it's left carelessly on the floor, you sure as hell bet that cat would knock it over. This obvious lack of control and common sense is something to be highlighted as cats are often considered to be somewhat superior to dogs in terms of their "intelligence", something that maybe shouldn't be the case anymore.
