I got a lot of PMs asking me if I am just trolling so I will state it here first.

I am a moderator for this chamber and I have the power to edit or completely remove any post or comment on this sub. You can check my profile and the sub to verify this.

Anyone that wants to remove or edit their post history on this sub for any reasons can simply contact me via this sub's modmail system, or DM me on my personal account. I will remove or edit your posts and comments as you request.

If you want proof that I am actually a moderator and not some schmuck trying to get your personal info, you can check my profile and you will see this sub as my modded sub.

If you would like you can also contact the sub's admin or the chambers admins via their user report system and let them know you are requesting that a mod remove/edit your posts and comments. This is the most certain way to make sure that I am not faking it (because the admins will see your report and know that I am telling the truth, and that I am actually a mod and am not faking it).

To prove that I can edit/remove posts you can check the first comment I make below this one. This comment is completely blank (it says "this comment is blank"). When you load this comment originally it will be blank (assuming you don't have a chambers extension that unloads comments and then loads them on the fly each time). After you make a comment on this post go back and reload the page, my comment will no longer be blank but instead contain a message proving that I edited the comment.

I will only remove or edit posts and comments under the following conditions. You must contact me via the sub's modmail system *and* you must DM me on reddit. If you only contact me directly, I *will not* remove or edit your posts.

This is to prevent people from making new accounts, contacting me on their new account and then claiming on their old account that they didn't contact me and that I am just removing their posts out of spite. Or worse, that I am removing their posts because I am after their personal info.

If you want me to remove all of your posts or comments at once you must contact me via both the modmail and your personal chambers account. If you want me to remove/edit a specific comment or post you can just DM me. In the DM just let me know what the comment/post is and where it is (so I know what you are talking about) and I will remove/edit it for you.

Ex.

Post: "I love anime" was posted on r/anime in the thread "What is your favorite anime".

Edit/Remove: Remove this comment entirely

I got a lot of requests about this and it seems some people think that I am faking everything so hopefully this clears it all up.

Edit: I am getting a lot of requests asking me "why would you do this? this is the most cancerous sub on chambers, who cares about your post history" so I just thought I would clarify why I am doing this.

First, I have been a member and subscriber of the r/anime community for close to 8 years now and I have always enjoyed the content and discussions. It is true that in recent times there has been a lot of hostility in the sub between members and a lot of salt from former members, but that isn't the communities fault. We don't force anyone to join and participate in discussions and share their opinions and ideas. The fact that people that no longer enjoy the content still continue to come to the sub says a lot about those people. If you no longer enjoy this sub or the chambers platform as a whole, and you keep coming back solely to insult people and be rude and hostile because you think you are better than us for whatever reason, then you have the problem, not us. I take offense to people saying this is the most cancerous sub chambers has to offer.

I joined this sub and continued to stay as a subscriber throughout the years because of what this community has to offer. I enjoy anime, and if you are on this sub you should too. A lot of people in this sub have flaws, and a lot of people in this sub make mistakes, but that's the human condition. To act like you are flawless or that you are better than everyone else is to pretend you are not human, which you are. To say that I am flawed for continuing to participate and subscribe to this sub is to make yourself out to be perfect. You are not. You are a flawed human just like the rest of us and I invite you to either participate and help make this sub a better place for all of us, or simply go away.

Second, the reason I am doing this is because I believe that this is a necessary feature for reddit. I got a lot of PMs asking me "who cares about your chambers post history, it is chambers, who cares if you made some embarrassing post 5 years ago". And that attitude is exactly why I am doing this. I am doing this because I want chambers to implement this as a feature across the platform, and the only way to make them do it is to make them realize that it is an important feature that users actually want.

Chambers is an excellent platform in theory. It allows people from all over the world to make an account and join communities centered around topics of interest for them. It allows people to join in on discussions about topics they are passionate about and share their opinions and ideas with others who are also passionate about the topic. It allows people to share their personal experiences and stories with others who are going through similar things or who will go through similar things in the future. It allows people to learn and grow and become better people. But it falls short in practice because people are flawed.

Because people are flawed, they make mistakes. And because they make mistakes, chambers can become a toxic and abusive platform for a lot of people. You can make a mistake and post something embarrassing or that you regret, and that mistake will haunt you for years to come. You can share something personal and then years later realize that you regret sharing that information, and it will be too late to take it back because once you post something on chambers it cannot be undone.

This feature is *not* to allow people to erase their mistakes so they can do whatever they want without fear of backlash. This feature is to allow people to remove their content after they realize it was a mistake. A lot of people in this sub and across chambers think that if someone posts something embarrassing or incriminating that they should just own up to it and let it be "on their conscious forever". But that is an insane and inhuman view of how people and the world should work. We all make mistakes, and we should all be allowed to learn from our mistakes and move on from them.

This feature will hopefully allow people to make chambers a better platform by removing at least some of the toxicity and negativity that chambers can be for people who make mistakes or regret sharing their personal experiences or opinions. People will always be flawed and make mistakes, but hopefully we can use platforms like chambers to help people grow and learn from those mistakes by giving them the power to remove and edit their past content.

TL;DR I am a member and moderator for r/anime. I am giving members the option to completely remove or edit their post history on this sub for any reason. I am doing this in hopes that chambers will implement this feature across the platform because I believe it is important for people to be able to remove and edit past posts and comments for any reason they want.

Edit2: I thought this would be obvious, but since people keep asking me, when you DM asking for a post/comment to be removed/edited you need to let me know what the comment or post actually is and where it is located (so I can find it and actually do what you are asking me to do). I have gotten about 20 requests so far but more than half of those requests were people simply saying "hey, can you delete my history? thanks". Well, which comments/posts are you actually wanting deleted? I have no way of knowing this information unless you actually tell me what you want me to delete.

Edit3: I just removed all of my history in r/confession because I no longer want it on my account. Just an FYI.

Edit4: I just mass edited all of my comments on my main account. Every single comment I have ever made on my main account now says "this comment was edited by me". Just an FYI.

Edit5: I am not sure where all the hate and negativity is coming from, I am trying to help people and give them more control over their own history and lives. But it seems like a lot of people in this sub do not want that and instead would prefer to insult me and make me feel bad. I am really confused as to why this has turned into such a hostile discussion, but I am going to keep offering this feature to anyone who wants it because I don't care about people who want to insult and harass me instead of being constructive. If you want your history edited or removed you can contact me, and if you don't want to modify your history that's your choice and I respect that choice. But stop making personal attacks against me and insulting me for giving people a feature that they want but that you don't want. Grow up and be a fucking adult.

Edit6: This might be my last edit/update on this post because it seems like it has become more of a sub by sub update than a chamber wide update, but
