Update: I [30(f)] adopted my little sister [13(f)] after single mom passed away, my fiance [35(m)] won’t speak to me because he thinks burden is too big.

Prettymuch same post as before. I just wanted to post the update first and then I’ll get back to my comments. <br><br>Thank you everyone for the unexpected support, I ended up taking my mom back to hospice an hour after my post. I told my ex fiance to make arrangements to get his stuff. <br><br>My mom had been taken back to ICU after a three days of deterioration and the doctor told us we had only hours left. It was around 9pm when he told us and we were asked if we wanted to get our stuff however we decided to be by her side. <br><br>She was. in a lot of pain so they gave her a high dose of painkiller and she was already very tired. She fell asleep and I remember being so mad thinking I’d never get to say goodbye. <br><br>As we sat next to her I woke up to the beep that sounded and they announced that she was gone. I got up to see her and cry. I watched a video from this sub where a woman recorded her husband when he died and it’s stuck with me so I recorded a quick video of my mom. <br><br>It’s probably weird but it actually moved me into taking care of things quickly, I went to my ex fiance’s house, picked up my sister and made her pack some bags as we were both staying at my father’s place. We talked to my sister about mom and what’s going to happen now. <br><br>She’s been pretty good, she’s already asked a few questions about school next week and I think I’ll just ask her teacher about it since she’s been very understanding. I’ve told my job I might need two weeks to settle things and there’s been no issue, so many people have reached out giving me food, money and help. <br><br>I only took my mom’s phone to look for the will and I found out she bought my sister and I a house right next to our childhood home. Our childhood home wasn’t big enough for both us so she purchased a 2 story house. It was fully furnished but we’ll be moving some stuff from the old places as well. <br><br>It’s been built in 1900 so it needs some work but it’s pretty and we can stay with my dad temporarily as he helps me get it all fixed. My sister has. picked out her room and I’ve told her she can do whatever she wants to make it her own. <br><br>I’m sorry for no happy ending with my ex fiance but he isn’t worth my time and I wasn’t going to leave my sister so I wish him the best. <br><br>Thank you for every comment, I have to go through some legal things and get the girls settled but thank you from both of us.
