CMV: If you want to shut down a homeless person who is being loud or rude, tell them to “do it for the right reasons”

They don’t like to do anything for the right reasons. If you tell them to be quiet or move off your property, they’ll just scream at you and argue with you and just justify their actions by saying you belittled them or were rude to them or whatever. But if you approach them like this: “Hey buddy I know you’re making a lot of noise right now or saying some pretty rude stuff. If you want to keep doing it, that’s fine, but do it for the right reasons. If you want to be loud, do it because you want to scream at the top of your lungs, not because someone just kicked you out of a house or you just lost a good friend. If you want to keep saying these pointless things to me, do it because you actually believe them, not because you feel you have nothing to lose.” Then they will just stop talking and probably leave. Maybe it’s in their psyche, idk. But this is extremely effective for me, because I know I’m not doing anything wrong, I’m not harassing them or kicking them off my property for no reason, they’re just being rude or obnoxious without reason. And it’s amazing.
