Let me preface this with the fact that I'm not the biggest AI supporter, I think we should be really careful and listen to the experts, not dumb greedy tech moguls who want to reap all the benefits.

However it's objectively naive to think that everything AI is inherently evil and will wipe us out.

This is just the beginning of Generative AI and yes it's super cool and can be very impressive. And the greedy tech moguls do want to use everything to milk profits from us. But it's not the INPUT that is evil, it's the person using it.

For example in the news there were people saying "omg AI generated an article on what it would be like as a fly on the wall in a meeting between Elsa and Anna from Frozen". The news was about how Generative AI is somehow a threat to humanity.

You can use a hammer, or you can hit someone with a hammer... it's the person who uses something that's good or bad.

Generative AI is a tool just like a hammer, but people have been talking about how it could be used to train children and prepare them for the future where the average job will be disrupted. At the same time, it can be used to make deepfakes etc, that's the INPUT. We can't pinpoint the INPUT as anything inherently evil. It's how you use it.
