So the concept of the Infinite Improbability Drive has been explored in the depths of Douglas Adams' mind and the TV adaptation of his most famous work. I can also think of Doctor Who and Red Dwarf, as well as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I've wondered for a while, what if an Infinite Improbability Drive were developed for real? What if it worked? What if we used it to explore the galaxy? What would happen? How would the galaxy change with humanity in it?

[Edit: Clearly this is an idea from someone who didn't read the book, because in the book it's an infinite improbability generator not drive. But I guess Infinite Improbability Drive sounds better.]

[Edit2: I've been told there's already a sub dedicated to this, and it's a pretty obscure piece of sci-fi, so I guess this is a bit of a weak post. I apologize for wasting your time]

[Edit3: I thought I might have a go at the prompt myself. If you're interested, check out the comments]
