Hello Reddit. I've never used this before. My wife (39f) has a younger sister (34f) who recently got married. Part of the wedding party was a flower girl, who was the 6 year niece of the groom. After the wedding, the groom's mother organized a party to celebrate the flower girl's 7th birthday. The party invited the entire wedding party, minus my wife. My sister-in-law told my wife it was because the bride's family see her as "an adult" so they didn't think she'd fit in at a kids party. My wife is very upset. Am I wrong in feeling like this was a bit of an ageist remark from the bride's family to not invite my wife?

I haven't heard anything from the bride's family directly, but according to SIL they didn't invite my wife because they thought she'd be bored at a kids party. My wife is still pretty young at heart and was looking forward to going.
