YouTube (and the Internet as a whole) was much better when people were creating content as a hobby instead of a "job"

Everyone talks about how great it is that people can create content full time and make money off of it. It's part of the "hustle" culture that is just disturbing to see.

When people are creating content full time, they feel the need to create as much of it as possible and are always trying to find ways to get you to give them money. From shitty merchandise to sponsorships, you can tell that the money is really all they care about.

When content creation was a side hobby for people, the content was much, much better. They didn't have to create content all day or worry about having to create "clickbait" titles or thumbnails to get you to watch their videos.

You see this on pretty much any platform - as soon as someone starts getting too much success, they start to create really low quality content and are only in it for the money.

**tldr - Content made for money is always lower quality and clickbait-y. Content made as a hobby is higher quality and you can tell that the creator actually cares about the content.**
