What’s the most terrifying thing someone has said to you?

This was inspired by a conversation I had with a good friend of mine. I posted this post in r/relationships but it was locked so I’m posting it here instead. <br><br><br>My mother and I were walking our dogs around the block in the middle of the day. We were walking down the sidewalk and two guys were walking the other way. One of them made eye contact with me and smiled but my mother said he was very creepy. After they passed us, I heard one of them say “Let’s drag her in the car and take her to the park and [redacted] her and then kill her”. I looked at my mom and asked “Did you hear that?” and she said yes. We quickly grabbed the dogs and pulled them towards us and rushed back home. I looked back to see if they were following us and I saw one of them pull out a knife. We rushed inside the house and locked all the doors. 10-15 minutes passed and we looked outside to see if anyone was there and no one was. We then called the police and they said they would send someone over to take a report. They never came so we called again and they told us to call the nonemergency line and they would send someone over. We gave them as much information we could and they told us they would send someone over in 5-10 minutes. 45 minutes passed and no one came so we called the police again and they told us to call the nonemergency line again and that they would “try their best” to come over. We were really upset that no one would come over to take our report but we gave them the description again and they told us to call 911 if we see them again. It’s been 8 hours since this happened and we haven’t seen them again. Has anyone else ever had anything like this happen?<br><br>Update: We couldn’t get anyone to come over and take a report so we went to the station and filed a report. They said they would send cars in our area to look for them and if we don’t hear back from them in 24 hours to call them back.
