My boyfriend took 400mg of psilocybin for the first time and it made me question our relationship. Any thoughts?

Hi all, long time lurker and first time poster here. So I have been dating my boyfriend, 25m, for a little over 2 years and things were reasonably ok. Recently we made a trip to the coast. My boyfriend has done psilocybin mushrooms before while he was an undergrad but it was just a tiny amount. This time he wanted to take 400mg so I could take care of him. I trusted him fully and so I wasn't worried much about the effects.

When he came up to his high, he began to feel nauseous and threw up. Afterwards he went to the bed in the room we were staying and in about an hour he was in a deep high. He looked like he was dead; he wasn't responding to anything, not even his name. I was alone in the living room watching him from time to time. In about 4 hours he got out of the bedroom, still not responding, and sat on the couch next to me. While sitting, he would look in a specific direction, his pupils were dilated and I could sense he was hallucinating. With time he slowly began to come to his senses. We had a conversation and he was still a bit out of it. After about 9-10 hours he was back to normal.

I understand that psilocybin is a powerful psychedelic and I could somewhat anticipate the effects. But what happened troubled me and made me question our relationship. I have never seen him in that state. The first 9-10 hours I was alone in the living room, looking over him from time to time making sure he was ok, while he was just laying around or sitting in a daze. I was a bit bored and lonely and I wished he could be there with me during the trip. I felt like I needed to take care of him and be by his side, like a babysitter, rather than enjoying the experience together.

This made me realize that he's not the partner for me. I want to try psilocybin and other psychedelics together with my partner. But if he's not able to function while tripping, I just can't have that. What are your thoughts?
