How would you make a fictional world seem lived-in (or worn out)?

I've been inspired by a bunch of Reddit posts in the past in AsiaPhoria in which the OP posts a map of a fictional (or real?) Asian country that just seems to have been lived-in. I've read a lot of Brandon Sanderson who always gives the impression that his fictional continents have been lived in for centuries. If you have tips for how to create this impression, thanks in advance :)
