As a doctor I find the colour blue for male patients and pink for female patients to be very offensive

The color of a patients card should be the same for everyone. I have female patients that are blue and I completely forget about them because they are the rare ones, while I am working exclusively with male patients that are blue, and I have male patients that are pink, they get a little more of my attention.<br><br>When I was in my rotation at our psychiatric ward, it was very clear how many male patients there were where they were forgotten about and didn't get the attention they needed and deserved. The same is true for female patients.<br><br>I understand that this is just a tiny snippet of our lives and it will not make or break any patient, but just like any other prejudice we should avoid it.
