I have been driving trucks for 8 years. Even when the pandemic was at its peak, I didn't see this many trucks sitting at our terminal. In fact, we were busier than ever and every single one of the trucks at our terminal were out on the road.

I came in yesterday to pick up a trailer to go on the road for the next 14 days and I have never seen this many trucks sitting at our terminal. Usually, there are about 20-30 trucks sitting there at any given time. Today, there were at least 100 trucks there.

I talked to my terminal manager and asked him why there are so many trucks sitting there. He told me that they just don't have enough freight to go around. In fact, he has never seen a time like this. He has been in the industry for 40 years and has never seen this many trucks sitting around.

I have increased my Recruitment efforts and have been trying to get more drivers for a long time and this is the first time that I have actually seen what a surplus of drivers actually looks like. Even if you hired 100 new drivers, they would all have something to do.

I also talked to other drivers and even veterans who have been driving for 30 years have never seen this.
