every other month at school, we would get a dental check up as part of a government program

one day, I had no trouble getting through the line. I remembered asking an older kid what the point of getting dental check ups were and he had said it was to check if you had brushed your teeth. I then thought about it, and was like "nah, I dont wanna get in trouble", and then brushed my teeth as well,

they handed you a tooth brush and then had you spit out the tooth paste. Then they would check your teeth and then give you a little fluoride thing to keep in your teeth for a bit. you know, the foamy white shit

anyway, so I get to the line after having brushed my teeth, and the nurse would always tell you to spit out the toothpaste. so I did, but she thought it was blood and thought I had mouth ulcers or something from not brushing properly. she said she was gonna have to call my mother and she was gonna give me a note

I was like "nah but I brushed my teeth", but she didnt believe me. so I got called out of class and had to explain but my mom didnt believe me either. ended up getting a note in my diary with a big D for the dental check up part

not a big deal but its funny to think about, and it goes to show how much their expertise mustve meant compared to the 10 year olds expertise
