App to help you decide where to eat in a group.

My wife and I are constantly deciding where to eat together and literally will be like 1,000 choices where to eat before we arrive at an answer. <br><br>I was thinking about the problem of finding where to eat and wanted to know if there is an app that already offers something like this.<br><br>I think what I would like is an app that you can add your friends/family as friends. Then you can kind of share a meal planning event with everyone and each person votes on a place to eat until someone wins. <br><br>You can also set up additional rules like how far you’re willing to travel. <br><br>I was thinking about this and how to apply it to other groups, like where to go on a group vacation or what to watch on movie night. <br><br>Anyway, I don’t plan on making the app since I have literally 0 knowledge on app development but maybe someone here has heard of this before? I think this might be a viral app if done right. Let me know. <br><br>Edit: <br>I would love to see an app like this for more than just food. <br><br>Imagine the app being called 50/50 and the first thing you can do in the app is create a group, name the group, invite friends, then you can create events like I stated above. <br><br>And then you can set the amount of people who need to agree until the vote ends and the winner is picked. <br><br>You can also add rules, like the place to eat needs to be within a certain distance from a set location and a minimum rating.<br><br>The app will then take the food locations within the area, apply the rules and then randomize the order of the remaining food locations, and then have the group randomly take turns voting until enough people vote for the same location. <br><br>I also like to see a feature where if you have already voted on a location, you can pass on your next voting turn to up the chances of the spot you liked to be picked. <br><br>There could be more features, but I just wanted to brainstorm a little. <br><br>I think this could be a clever app, and would work better than simply typing out your choices and having people randomly say what they like or dislike. <br><br>Also, does anyone know how difficult it would be to incorporate real time map tracking and map rule setting? <br><br>I also had another thought, you can probably use the app for when you’re alone and can’t decide. Just randomize the order. <br><br>It would also be very interesting to see if you can track past selections and then see what kinds of decisions you have made or how much you repeat your choices.
