I stole so much from my job that my boyfriend and I are going to buy a house.

I’m working at Target for the time being and we’ve been having so many issues with security cameras and missing inventory that a lot of us have been taking what we want. For context, I’m a stocker and loader (I bring stock into the store and onto the floor and then stock it).<br><br>I’ve been stealing so much that my boyfriend and I are going to put a down payment on a house next week. We currently live in an apartment with roaches and we can’t break our lease yet. But we should be able to close on a house by the time the lease is up.<br><br>I feel no guilt. I’m not the type of person to do anything illegal, but I think this is justifiable because our lease ends in February and we need to close on a house by then. It’s not like we’re going to be loading tv’s into our cars or anything. It’s a bunch of random items that we plan on getting into reselling. <br><br>For example, I stole 40 pairs of boots yesterday from the back room. And about 30 vaccum cleaners, 15-20 tablets, about 40 phones, and just random stuff. The cameras in the back are down and my manager has been letting me go into the stock room alone. So I’ve been grabbing as much as I can. Yesterday was the biggest steal I’ve done and it was super nerve wracking. I had to do it in batches and my manager almost caught me and I lied and said I was just grabbing water from the vending machine. <br><br>I just pack my car full of whatever I can grab and then my boyfriend picks me up and we go to his house and just store it. I feel like we have so much that we can’t even sell it all before our lease is up, so it may be a while. But we’re hoping to close on a house in June or July.
