**The defect:** Philosophers don't accept or reject philosophies philosophically. Philosophers don't accept or reject philosophies because they are well-argued or poorly argued, sound or unsound. Philosophers accept or reject philosophies based on personal preferences and biases. Philosophers accept or reject philosophies based on their personal values, political views, ethical beliefs, religious beliefs, philosophic temperament, philosophic personality, philosophic style, philosophic spirit, philosophic tendency, etc. Philosophers accept or reject philosophies based on whether they like or dislike the philosophic conclusions, based on whether they find them appealing or unappealing, based on whether they are in favor of them philosophically or against them philosophically. Philosophers accept or reject philosophies based on philosophical prejudice. Philosophers accept or reject philosophies based on personal feeling and sectarian instinct.

**The problem:** Philosophers aren't evaluating the soundness of philosophies, they are evaluating their appeal based on personal leaning and inclination. Philosophers aren't evaluating the strength of philosophies, they are evaluating their philosophic appetites. Philosophers refuse to distance themselves from their personal feeling and sectarian instinct when they evaluate different philosophies, which means that they are doing philosophy that is based on personal preference and not based on the strength of arguments. Philosophers aren't doing philosophy, they are doing philosophic sectarianism. Philosophers are more concerned with whether they philosophically agree or disagree with philosophies than with whether they are sound or unsound.
