Why does the LGBTQ community still want to be a part of Christianity?

Yeah, I get it, a ton of them have been born and raised into it. It has been the justification of them being discriminated against or straight up killed in the past. Why not just leave? All of y'all who are Christian and LGBTQ, y'all are awesome and 100% deserving of my love and respect. But why even try to be part of something so adamantly against you? I don't get it.
