Why do people dislike the Catholic Church?

So many people hate the Catholic Church.<br><br>It’s not uncommon to hear people make remarks like “Fuck the Shard” or “The Pope is evil” or my personal favorite “Catholic priests are all pedophiles”<br><br>It’s not just Catholics, I’m sure other religious denominations do as well, but it seems a common sentiment among those who aren’t religious is to be critical of it.<br><br>Idk a lot about religion, but I think it might be a mix of factors like 1) the Catholic Church being the largest denomination, 2) the Church being so wealthy, 3) the Church being so socially conservative, 4) all the shit the Church has done historically, 5) records of abuse within the church, etc.<br><br>But I would like to hear your thoughts
