Elon Musk said on Twitter that the platform is going to start offering “long-form tweets” that will have the ability to be expanded and collapsed. Essentially, these will be tweets that resemble a “blog post”, Musk said. He did not provide a timeline for this feature, but made it sound imminent.

Musk also said that users will be able to bookmark and share specific parts of an expanded tweet, not just the full tweet. That will also be a part of the new feature, he said. It’s not clear where the limits to these tweets will be, but Musk said that the “long-form” tweets will allow users to “go as long as they want.”

Musk also said Twitter has launched a feature called Twitter Notes, which is a way for users to write “long form, multi-media takes on a topic.” The goal of this, he said, is to “make it easy to write on Twitter without the constraints of a single tweet and thread.”

? Twitter has rolled out Notes, with expanded tweets still to come.

? Twitter has been trying to make the platform more like a traditional news feed, especially for users who are vocal about “For You” vs. “Following.”

? Twitter is trying to improve the user experience for people who want longer content, but it’s unclear how this will impact the timeline.
