Some guy is serving time for his thoughts, but the thought police are real here.

There’s this trend where people make comments about wanting to carry out shootings, and I’d say most of the time these people don’t act on it. The ones I’ve seen who do actually want to carry out shootings don’t actually make the comments. I’d say most of the time it’s someone saying something that they wouldn’t act on, and then the person is charged for threats or whatever. Like the kid who talked about wanting to rob a bank or something, and the police came and arrested him without a warrant. In my book, someone can say they want to do something but it doesn’t mean they actually will. It’s like when someone says “I’d like to shoot Obama” or something, but they don’t actually have the intention of doing it. In reality, someone can say they’re going to do it but doesn’t actually have something planned. It’s all just a precautionary measure, you know? Like when you make a bomb threat to a school as a joke and the police and the school freak out. They don’t think it’s a joke, they think it’s real. Like the time someone made a joke bomb threat to a school in my city, and the police were saying it was a serious thing and that the person would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. But this sub has the thought police, and if you don’t play your cards right, you’ll be banned. In reality, no one can or should police your thoughts, but they do. If you don’t like something, you post about how it’s wrong, and that’s a personal attack on someone for their beliefs. There’s this trend of people posting about how they hate xyz because of this, this, and this reason. It’s almost as if they just don’t like the same things as you, and that you’re better than them. It’s like when you find out something that you thought was true isn’t. It doesn’t mean it isn’t true for someone else. It’s like this sub has a hive mind, everyone has to be on the same page.
