Men don't conceal their depression because they are afraid being seen as less of a man. They conceal because no one gives a fuck.

As Bill Burr once said 'ladies your issues may not get resolved but at least people give a fuck'. <br><br>And there it is. That's why so many men don't talk about their depression. Not because we are afraid other men will lose respect for us, but no one cares. If I tell my depression, and my first response is "Ranger, you're stronger than this. You got this brother. You're a great guy, just man up". Then I know that in times of need I can go to this person for support and I'll be offered a pat on the back and a "good guy". <br><br>No thank you. I'll keep it to myself, because at least then I can cry in peace and no one will take advantage of me during my vulnerable state.
