The stunt the kid pulled off by faking brain cancer on r/schoolgirls was really fucked up

I’ve been on r/schoolgirls for a pretty long time and the amount of people who engaged with that post and the people who upvoted it and gave it gold is fucking crazy. I understand that dark humour can be really funny and relatable and I also understand that people don’t always realize the severity of what they are posting, but to get that many upvotes and gold on a post about faking brain cancer is fucking insane. People probably didn’t even realize how fucking fucked up that was until after the reveal, and it’s just sad that it took that long for them to realize that. I just think it’s really messed up how a lot of the people who engaged with this post act like it’s no big deal when in reality it’s not okay to fucking joke about faking brain cancer. The kid who made this is probably okay now but it could have gone a really different way and I just think it was really fucking irresponsible for a lot of people to engage with this. I hope we can all learn from this and realize that even if something seems funny or relatable, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s okay to do.
