Once someone has irradically damaged a public space it should remain in disrepair until many generations have passed

I’m talking about stuff like the Plaza of the Angels in LA, the Washington Monument, the Chrysler building. All of these amazing landmarks have been irreparably damaged and yet we pretend that they are still in their original condition. I think we should be more honest with ourselves and just admit that these structures have been forever marred.
