Most “shrill women” are actually neurodivergent and get dismissed for it

I’m autistic and have bipolar disorder, and I’ve done personality voiceovers for years. I have seen way too many scenes where characters have been voiced by women be brushed off as “shrill” or “nagging” or just outright dismissed because the auditors think the women they’re voiced by are annoying. Women in animation voiceover roles get dismissed all the time. It’s misogynistic, and also neurodivergent people have a unique set of voice talents that get wasted on this “she’s annoying” dismissal.
