People who say "humans weren't meant to work" have no basic understanding of how a society functions

I want to preface this with: I think that salaries are too low to be able to live comfortably, and i think that a change is needed, but i do not think that "not working anymore" would benefit anyone whatsoever.

I've been hearing more and more "we shouldn't spend 30-40 years of our lives just to work and be allowed to live".

Yes, you absolutely fucking should. The salaries should be higher and one should be allowed fair compensation, but humans were ABSOLUTELY built to work.

When you get up at 9:00 AM without an alarm, when you wake up without the possibility of waking up naturally, you're waking up an hour or two AFTER your body naturally would, this should put in perspective how LONG it should take you to get up and be ready to go to work, it takes a LOT longer for the alarm to get you to get up than it would if you woke up naturally.

You see people saying "work less, play more", "play more, work less", "you don't need to work so much", "we should focus on happiness", this is utterly stupid.

The people who run societies, the mayors, the managers of a company, the chairmen, the CEOs, the president, the prime-minister, etc, are ALL themselves part of the working population.

The reason they have more rights than us, and the reason they're more concerned with "happiness" than profits, is because they themselves were part of the working population for YEARS before taking the positions.

If everyone demanded to stop working so much, and just enjoy life, who would run the society? How would it all be sustained? Who'd pay for everything we consume, if everyone's not working?

The salaries ARE too low, but the current trend we see of "i don't want to work" is absolutely stupid, people need to be forced to work, to an extent, otherwise society as we know it would collapse.

You need to understand how a society functions, basically, there's only 5 ways to get something from point A to point B:

1. Stealing
2. Taxation
3. Physical labor
4. Manipulation (social media etc)
5. Innovation

The top 2 should be absolutely prohibited, the last 3 are needed to be maintained.

Physical labor is, literally, the definition of work.

Work, by definition, IS physical labor, IS humans being required to do something for something else.

You won't live to enjoy this world we have, without anyone maintaining it.

If you aren't contributing something to your society (by say... 60-70 hours/week or something like that), you're just taking from it.

Consequently, the only way to fair distribution of wealth, in my opinion, would be to have utility preservation and distribution based on how much people contribute.
