Sorry to ruin the brains and talent conversation with my dumb gay ass but does anyone know about the relationship between Mary Wollstonecraft and her daughter Mary Shelley?

Mary Wollstonecraft died the same year I was born, 1797.

She was a philosopher, writer and feminist.

Seems like she was born in 1759, the 27th of August. She died September 1797.

She wrote about sex, relationships and power. She wrote a letter to Motheur, saying that she wasn't a "whore" but that she was in love with a man. She wrote about homosexual relationships between women. She wrote about how one should write a book for women to "prove you are capable of being educated".

She met Percy Bysshe Shelley and was a fan of his work. She had an affair with him. He was infatuated with her and many other women. She didn't find him as fetching as he thought of himself.

She gave birth to a child, Mary Shelley, then died in childbirth. Then Percy Bysshe Shelley swept in and married Mary Shelley, when she was only 15 years old. He was 20 years old.

He was abusive to her. They wrote a book together, she wrote the "tragic" part and he wrote the "beautiful" part. He put his name on the book instead of hers. She wrote 7 other books on top of that one.

He drowned to death at 29 years old.

Mary Shelley died of a brain tumor at 53 years old. Her life was marked by sickness, and poverty. She died in 1851.

I just thought about how women have contributed so much to the world of philosophy. They have contributed so much to the world of literature. And have been erased by men in the process.

But they were so talented, and so smart, and so creative. Despite the difficulties of being a woman, and despite the difficulties that came from their brains and talents, they still created beautiful works of art.

KAB, and may their memory be remembered for generations to come.

Severan's comment:

> God bless you. Thank you for this. Mary Shelley is my hero.
