We've all been in live streams, especially during quarantine, where the streamer will either openly talk about the awkward silence, or will say something like " anybody in the room?" or "is it me or is everybody quiet?"

While that may be uncomfortable, I find having the sound on live streams to watch them work on a computer or whatever task they are doing very distracting and annoying, as they will talk through every single website, program, and chat. All of the multitasking talk, the sound effects, the various "check outs", "pardon me's", "ok's", and "um's" can be very annoying. The talk while doing tasks is annoying as well. I have found myself to either turn the volume down, turn it off, or switch to a VOD if I can.

TL;DR - The silence of a voder while watching a task oriented stream is far more enjoyable than an active stream with the volume on
