Amazon has unveiled the second-generation Echo Frames. The smart glasses now have a longer battery life, for one. Additionally, the option to swap between frames is available for those who want an additional frame option with their Echo Frames.<br><br>The Echo Frames belong to a category that doesn’t currently count smart glasses. Indeed, the only smart addition is actually the Alexa assistant. This is primarily used through voice commands although the companion app can be used for specific setting and Alexa-related tasks on the device. The Echo Frames use external frames by Eyebuydirect and by default you will have to purchase your chosen frames from the site which will then be attached to the Echo Frames. <br><br>This second generation model has the same functionality as the first generation one. The main difference is within the battery life, which has jumped from 40% to 80% longer battery life depending on what you use it for. Alexa requests obviously take up more battery life whereas just playing music has less strain on the glasses. The frames themselves have also had a slight redesign but are mostly the same as they were before. The charging case is also smaller by 32% and has been reworked to be more practical with the charging cable being tucked away in the case. As for the pricing, you can expect again a $250 price tag for the glasses.
