I get that we can't make people ask us to do things and we can't all live in fear of offending anyone, but I don't understand why people do anything but comply with what anyone is asking for as soon as they ask. I honestly believe the less energy you put into interacting with the world, the less friction you're going to put into people's lives. I have a bit of a "Cold as Ice" vibe going on when it comes to being an inconsiderate asshole and I think this is an important life skill that a lot of people haven't learned yet. <br><br>I have been in several group situations where I was perfectly quiet and happy, before someone came up to me and asked me to stop doing whatever I was doing. After that point, I would often be on guard and much more likely to ignore them and others because they triggered me in some way. If I had simply complied right away, the situation wouldn't have unfolded that way and I probably wouldn't have been more likely to get annoyed by others afterwards.
