You are the captain of the Titanic. You are 3 hours from sinking. You are a large robot. You do not want to sink. What do you do?

The ship rumbles violently around me. I look at my internal chronometer: 11:40 PM. 3 hours until the ship sinks. 3 hours until the heat from the sinking ship melts my frame into the ocean floor.<br><br>I look out the window at the passengers, who are almost entirely oblivious to their fate. That will have to change.<br><br>" Frogmen, report to the bridge. Everyone else, prepare the lifeboats and begin loading the passengers."<br><br>I slam my massive metal fist against the wall. I have to save as many of these humans as I can.<br><br>I cannot believe it came to this. I was supposed to be the largest ship in the world. The unsinkable vessel. If only they had known.<br><br>The frogmen enter the room and salute. "Yes sir!"<br><br>"I Frogmen, you are to swim to the nearest telegraph station and contact the people of earth. We need a tug to pull this boat to shore as quickly as possible."<br><br>"Yes sir!"<br><br>I look out the window again. The humans are beginning to panic as the crew work to load them into the lifeboats. My only hope is that the humans have the technology to save me.<br><br>The frogmen leave, and radio back almost half an hour later. "Sir, the humans say they will be here in 3 hours."<br><br>That's no good. I need help now.<br><br>"Sir, is there anything else we can do?"<br><br>I think. How do I get help here faster? I remember a trick I had learned a while back.<br><br>"Frogmen, do you remember the trick where you use a hard metal rod to conduct electricity from a wire to a piece of saltwater?"<br><br>"Yes, we remember."<br><br>"Well, I want you to go out there and do that trick with the telegraph wire and the ocean. Hopefully, it will allow us to contact more places and get a faster response."<br><br>"Yes sir!"<br><br>I look out the window again. The humans are almost all in the lifeboats now. Soon I will be alone. If the humans can't come soon, I will be stuck here, alone, on the bottom of the ocean. Hopefully, the frogmen's trick works.<br><br>The radio crackles. "Sir, we did the trick! We are trying to contact someone now! Oh no! My legs are melting! Agggghhh!"<br><br>I heard a loud bang outside. I looked out the window just in time to see a blue streak cross the sky.<br><br>A small blue robot falls onto the bridge.<br><br>"Are you the ship's captain?"<br><br>I nod.<br><br>"My name is Robo-Cop. I am from the future, where you are a legendary robot who saved thousands of people from a sinking ship. My government has sent me back in time to save you. I am equipped with a Hyper-Tow-Cable. If you can aim it at the nearest landmass, I can tow you the rest of the way there."<br><br>I look out the window, and see the faint outline of the shore in the distance. I aim the tow-cable, and flip it on.<br><br>The ship rumbles as Robo-Cop begins to pull me to shore. I look out the window at the humans, who are all watching in amazement as I am saved from a watery grave.<br><br>I may not be able to fit the traditional human definition of "hero", but I am able to fit the legendary robot definition of "hero".<br><br>The ship rumbles to a stop on the shore. Robo-Cop walks into the bridge.<br><br>"You must now return to our time and fulfill your destiny as a legendary robot."<br><br>I agree, and together we left the past behind.
