People who say "humans weren't meant to work" have no basic understanding of how a society functions.

I want to preface this with: I completely understand that the current system is utterly fucked and not everyone should be working and yet, we have no alternative, at least not yet.

The idea that we should all have the freedom to do as we wish with our time like it's nothing is ignorant and dumb. Someone has to do the menial tasks that keep society running, like driving buses, serving food, picking fruits, taking care of kids, etc. If there would be no menial jobs, and everyone picked a "meaningful" job like teaching, healing, or creative jobs, there would be zero teachers, zero doctors and healthcare workers, zero artists because everyone would be doing the most important and "fulfilling" job in the world, which is saving the planet.

Just because you don't want to do these dumber jobs doesn't mean you get to opt out of paying for them and everything they provide.

People should stop pretending that all 8 billion humans have the capacity to find fulfilling meaningful and useful jobs that are sustainable and just focus on existing, like it's nothing.
