AITA for not dropping my hobby for my kids?

My husband and I both have a 10 year old daughter and 7 year old son. We also each have a hobby that takes up a decent amount of time and money. He plays hockey. I practice martial arts (specifically taekwondo). <br><br>I’m a black belt and my studio is hosting a tournament in a few weeks. This is the first time in six years that we’re hosting the tournament instead of going to another one in a different city, so I want to participate since I won’t have to travel or pay for hotels. <br><br>My husband has a problem with it. He says that the kids have never seen me compete and he wants to go to the tournament to watch me. But he doesn’t want to take off of work for the whole day and also has to take our kids to their extracurriculars since their grandpa is out of town. So he said I should skip the tournament so I can take care of the kids. I told him no, I’m taking the whole week off for this.
