Telling someone to “just google it!” Is passive-aggressive and causing people to be anti-social.

Look, I get we’ve all probably said it at a thousands of a gazillion pace, but the fact that it’s happening on a wider scale is causing people to become less willing to ask questions out of fear of being called ‘dumb’ because they don’t know something. When in to ask for info on something is a great way to appear inquisitive and intelligent, showing that you’re interested in a topic and want to know more. When someone asks *you* a question, seeing yourself as a knowing person and directing them to a search bar essentially shows that you don’t care and are willing to shoo the person away. It’s a passive-aggressive way to act, and we should phase this out and instead find other ways to direct people to information without making them *feel* like they’re stupid.
