What if humanity was able to genetically engineer humans to be able to give birth to babies of any species?

As a person with a disability, I have thought about this topic a lot. I wanted to be able to experience having a pet without having to worry about the fact that I have mobility issues. What if humans would be able to give birth to babies of any species? I wouldn't have to worry about going outside the house to walk my pet. I could simply give birth to a dog. How would the world react to this discovery?
