Hello everyone, this is a survey done in Reddit, and open to Reddit users, it's not made up or biased or anything like that. <br>These are the results of a survey of over 209,000 Reddit users across all subreddits about the state of technology in 2023.<br><br>**Adoption of new technologies:**<br><br>- 45.4% are already using generative AI tools and 32.2% are interested but haven't tried them yet. <br>- 21.9% are open to testing brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). <br>- 22.3% have tried virtual reality (VR) headsets and 21.3% are interested but haven't used them. <br>- 10% are considering self-driving vehicles and 14.6% are open to it.<br><br>**Perceived Impact:**<br><br>- 54.9% believe AI will significantly improve everyday life, while 17.5% don't see a significant improvement. <br>- 66.9% see AI having more positive than negative impacts, 19.8% see more negative impacts. <br>- 55.1% think self-driving vehicles will reduce accidents and 11.9% believe the opposite.<br><br>**Concerns and Fears:**<br><br>- 73% express concerns about AI taking jobs. <br>- 57.2% fear AI could lead to the loss of human skills. <br>- 77.4% worry about privacy issues with BCIs. <br>- 54.4% don't think AI can safely replace human drivers, 53.5% trust self-driving vehicles.<br><br>**Age and Tech Adoption:**<br><br>- Younger users (18-24) are more likely to adopt new technologies than older users (55 and older) with 46.8% more likely to try generative AI tools, 22.9% more likely to use VR, and 14.6% more likely to embrace self-driving vehicles.<br><br>The results show a mix of excitement and apprehensions across different age groups and technologies.
