I just had an incredibly fun experience

I picked up a west conifer seed bug earlier today at my house and put it in a tupperware bowl to observe it for some time.

I was playing with it with my hand for quite some time, letting it crawl on me, having it crawl on his tiny legs in the air, etc.

The bug always made sure to keep a distance between us. When he had troubles crawling on my hand, he always made sure to crawl to a place where it was easier for him to walk.

After a while, he became more and more brave. He crawled on my fingers, and later on my arms. At one point, he even crawled in the pocket of my hoody, making me feel like a real bug person.

Later on, I had to run some errands. I put him in a small see through plastic bag, tied it shut and closed it in my jacket. I felt like a drug dealer, but instead of meth or crack, I carried a west conifer seed bug.

We had to walk a bit to get to the car, and the bug started crawling on the hood again, visibly shaking from the cold.

Right now, he is back in the bowl, and going to sleep. He is absolutely calm and doesn't mind me looking at him.

I am so amazed at how much personality you can see in an insect if you only spend enough time with it.
